Biography

I am Sophia Rose Schulfer and based in Ventura, California I specialize in wildlife/nature and food photography. I have loved photography since my mom put a camera in my hands as a child. I also have a passion for animals and coffee and put these into my photography.

I am an Aunt to a cat named Oatmeal Latte, my animal photography model. I want to conserve the beauty of Earth through my photographs. I have a connection with animals which creates an ability to empathize with the species on Earth.

My whole life I have been shy and struggled to express myself. Since I was shy, my mom put a camera in my hands, and my photography journey began. I have been passionate about photography for as long as I can remember.

My photography started at a young age, and my type of camera has developed throughout the ages(pun intended). I started from a kid’s camera to a Nikon DSLR. I use three lenses, but I tend to go for my telephoto zoom lens for wildlife.

I also have a love for animals and I want to help conserve them through the use of my photos. It also helps that I have a strong connection to animals and I can understand them as well as they can understand my intentions.

Another passion I have that I also put into my photography is coffee. I have learned new techniques for food photography and I can put them to good use for coffee photography.

I have a few inspirations, but my biggest inspiration is Ansel Adams—specifically his landscape/nature photography. In the house that I grew up in, there are images of his prints on the wall. I have always admired them and it helped to find my path in photography.
